If you are a student who participates in home-schooling, Oklahoma Baptist University readily welcomes you to join our student body.  We desire to help make your preparation for college and the admissions process as easy as possible. 

Outlined below are a few topics that may interest you as a home-schooled student or parent-teacher. If you have further questions, we are happy to discuss and clarify any information with you.

Academic Requirements for 在家学习的学生

在酸, our exceptional liberal arts curriculum and world-class faculty equip you in the areas of strong communication skills, 全球意识, and the ability to think critically and creatively from a Christian perspective.

Test Score or Test Optional Admission

Your admission will be based on a written description or a transcript of your homeschool experience and 要么 an ACT, SAT, or CLT score or supplemental admission documents through the Test-Optional Admission process.

Regular admission requires an ACT composite score of at least 20 or a re-centered SAT score of at least 950.

Your high school curriculum should include at least 17个单位, with each unit representing one year of satisfactory work in a particular subject. We recommend that your units be distributed as outlined below:

  • 英语: 4个单位 of journalism or business 英语 should not be used as substitutes.
  • 数学: 3台, including algebra I, algebra II and geometry. Those intending to pursue the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Science in Education in science or mathematics education are encouraged to take as much mathematics as possible, including trigonometry and calculus.
  • 科学: 3单位 of college preparatory science, which may include one unit of general science. The other two should include biology, chemistry, physics or another laboratory science. Those intending to pursue the Bachelor of Science or the Bachelor of Science in Education in science or mathematics education are encouraged to take three units of laboratory science.
  • 社会科学: 3台, including courses in American history and world history. Other options include such courses as sociology, economics, psychology, geography and state history.
  • 语言: 2单位 用同一种语言.
  • 学术选修课:2个学分 including one unit in computer applications.

学术成绩单

We will need a transcript of at least six semesters of your home-school high school work for 9th–12th grades. An umbrella home-school organization or teaching parents may submit your transcript to us. You are welcome to provide your own transcript format as long as it contains the following elements:

  • Credits or Carnegie units completed

If you are completing any dual-enrollment courses (college-level courses that you want to use for both high school and college credit), please indicate the name of the college on your Application for Admission. Your dual enrollment coursework should be included on your high school transcript. To determine transfer credit, we will also need an official college transcript and catalog (or a URL to a webpage that contains course descriptions) for each college-level course.

Academic scholarships and grants are awarded to students based on their academic achievement. As a home-schooled student, you are eligible for 联邦 aid if: 

  1. You have completed a high school program (evident with a graduation date on a transcript or letter from your parents), or
  2. You are beyond the age of compulsory attendance in the state in which the college is located. The age of compulsory attendance in Oklahoma is 18.
